Bob Mintzer and the Canyon Cover Trio

On Saturday Night, 1/14/12, South Florida JAZZ, South Florida's premier jazz organization, presented the best in West Coast Jazz to South Florida in the form of a new Los Angeles-based organ trio comprised of the hippest of contemporary jazz musicians. Saxophonist Bob Mintzer, still the principal voice of Yellowjackets, brought together drumming icon Peter Erskine (Weather Report, Yellowjackets) and Larry Goldings, simply one of the greatest keyboard players of his generation. They plowed new musical ground with original music written by the players. The event was held at the Rose & Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center on the Nova Southeastern University campus.
